“Joe Biden had one thing he had to do tonight and he didn’t do it,” former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D., Mo.) said on MSNBC. “He had one thing he had to accomplish, and that was reassure America that he was up to the job at his age. And he failed at that.”

Biden has an opportunity to correct the dumbest thing Democrats have done in my lifetime when they wrongly enabled him to seek reelection when he is obviously not physically capable of doing the job for four more years. Biden could make himself a historic example of selflessness and courage by watching his debate performance and admitting it was a mistake not to let one of the many talented younger Democrats run, including his excellent current VP.
